Social Media Marketing
The world of marketing has changed immensely! Before, when we thought about marketing, images appeared in our minds which usually had a group of nicely dressed people in a conference room, pitching ideas for slogans, each of them holding large pictures of the intended products.
Though I am sure that this still happens, the marketing world has evolved like many other facets of the business world into the digital sphere. The world is changing swiftly, the way we do things, the way we buy commodities, the way we communicate with each, all changing. Therefore, the way marketing is done has changed as well, in order to suit this new generation of customers.
The ball has been taken from large companies and in many instances, it has been placed in the hands of everyday people. Once upon a time, marketing companies had to be hired to ensure that your product was a success, now all you need is to get it out there through social marketing.
Imagine interacting with potential customers and getting their feedback for little or no cost and without the help of anyone. Social media marketing is a great way to get the word out and to generate interest and sales. But before you launch your campaign there are some things that you have to consider.
As with everything else, planning is key!
You have your product, but what do you want your customers to see? What do you want to do? Answering these questions can help you to decide which social media platform is the right one for you. Are you selling something? Do you want to meet people that are like you? Are you creating a buzz? Once you decide upon these things, you will be able to correctly select the best social media platform.
Now that you have selected your audience, you have to know where to find them. Different platforms have different types of people on them, looking for different things. You wouldn’t go to a lawyer’s office looking for an accountant would you? Therefore, you should ensure that you are pitching your product at the right group, at persons who are more likely to buy what you are selling. So by just doing a bit of research on each platform, and getting to know which demographic each one appeals to and their habits, you will be able to choose the one that is right for you.
Now that you have figured out where you are going to put your services or products, you have to let them stand out, let the world feel their presence! You can get a logo or a nice head shot done by a professional. Never underestimate the value of filling your profile completely, the last thing that you want is to look ‘sketchy’ to your potential customers! The content that you share should always be of a high standard, you are the expert, so strive to appear that way. If you are using more than one platform to get the word out, make sure that everything is consistent, remember you are building a brand, so all logos must be the same. Treat yourself as though you are already a big brand product and others will see it as that.
